Our Call to Duty – June Bride
Our Call to Duty – June Bride” What makes becoming a “June Bride” so important or fascinating? Today it seems that the majority of our population would rather live in a relationship rather than be married. And maybe this is why many who start a relationship with GOD also think it is just a shack-up as opposed to being the Bride of Christ.
The Apostle Paul wrote to the Corinthians that he was jealous of them with the jealousy of GOD Himself, because He promised them as a pure bride to one Husband (Christ). “I am jealous for you with a Godly jealousy. I promised you to one husband, to Christ, so that I might present you as a pure virgin to Him.” (2 Cor 11:2)
Jesus reminds us not to be foolish like the story of the ten virgins who went out to meet with the bridegroom to be married. (Matt 25:1-13). Half of the virgins went to meet the bridegroom without oil in their lamps. When the bridegroom came at midnight to meet them, the five (5) virgins without oil in their lamps wanted those virgins with oil in their lamps to give them some of their oil. However, those with oil made it clear that giving them oil would not leave them enough to go with the bridegroom to be espoused (married).
Preparing for marriage was not important to five of the ten virgins; and this is why today many choose not to be married. Commitment takes preparation, and when the relationship hits a snag, it becomes difficult to make it work, especially when leaving is easier. This story illustrates that half of people who say they want to follow Christ are not ready to commit to an everlasting relationship with Him.

Jesus stated it this way: “No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back [to the things left behind] is fit for the Kingdom of Heaven.” (Lk 9:62) Must we ask ourselves this question, am I fit for the Kingdom of Heaven? Because in our lives and in this world, we will have tribulation, but with Jesus there is peace even in the midst of our struggles. Our marriage to Christ makes going through the difficult times in our lives easier to manage.
It does not matter whether we are single or married, when we have Jesus working in our lives, His peace He leaves with us. “Peace, I leave with you; My [perfect] peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid.” [Let My perfect peace calm you in every circumstance and give you courage and strength for every challenge.] (John 14:17)
Do you have the GOD of peace (Jesus) in your life?
